The Arminex Trifire was introduced in late 1982, and is based on the Colt M1911a1 design. Designed as a combat weapon, the grip safety was removed, the trigger guard was reshaped to provide a gripping surface for a two-hand hold, and the rear tang was extended to prevent "hammer-bite." The claim to fame is the ability to convert calibers between .45 ACP, 9mmP, and .38 Super by changing the barrel, magazine, extractor, and slide stop.
