Introduced in 1910, this is a down scaled version of the 1909 model, an unsuccessful 9mm. This first model was made for about three years and serial number from 1 to 60,000. It is distinguished from the later models by a rounded coverplate over the lockwork, above the trigger, with a thumb catch. The magazine for this model has a small floorplate which is slightly recessed into the grip frame. Minor variations will occur as the serial numbers grow.
