Though manufactured in the United States, this pistol is almost an exact replica of the Jieffco and the old Model Melior, both made by Robar and de Korkhove of Lieges, Belgium. The only visible difference, other than inscription, is that the magazine release on the American marked gun is at the bottom of the grip frame, rather than a side button. It is possible that in the early 1920s parts were imported from Belgium and assembled to what appeared to be an American made pistol.
