Introduced in 1909 and 1913 respectively, the Model 2 and Model 5 pistols are identical in design and operation except for the superior fit and finish of the Model 5 and its 16 finger grooves instead of 9 in the Model 2. These represent a basic design change from the Model 1 in that the recoil spring surrounds the barrel and a hammer is concealed.
