Designed by Schmeisser, this pistol was produced from 1910 until the early part of World War I by Rheinische Metallwaaren und Maschinenfabrik, Sommerda, Germany. This is the derivation of the RMF on the grip. Unusual in that the rear sight is lifted, the rib is pulled back and the gun may be dismantled. Early models had two extractors, later models only one.
